Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pie Mobile Apps, LLC (“Pie Mobile Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Pin Me mobile application (“Pin Me”). Pin Me lets you create private groups and share your location with people you choose for a limited time.
Information Pin Me processes
- Identifiers and group information: an anonymous Firebase user ID, device or installation identifier, device name, group name, membership and invitation information, and related timestamps.
- Location: approximate and precise location only when you start a sharing session and grant the relevant device permissions. Background location is used only when you choose to continue sharing while Pin Me is not on screen.
- Optional photos: an avatar or profile image if you choose to add one.
- Technical information: limited device and network information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the app.
How we use information
We process this information to authenticate your installation, create and manage private groups, deliver invitations, show selected group members on the map, provide optional avatars, protect the service, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information, serve advertising, or use Pin Me data for advertising or third-party analytics.
Sharing and service providers
Location is shared only with the groups you select and only during the sharing period you start. Other group members may see your device name, avatar, and shared location. We use service providers to run Pin Me, including Google Firebase for anonymous authentication and real-time data, Google Maps and Play services for maps and location functionality, and Vercel-hosted services for optional encrypted avatar delivery. These providers process information on our behalf under their own service terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, the public, or the service.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Pin Me additionally encrypts shared group coordinates and avatar payloads using group encryption keys, while supported Android devices protect local keys with the Android Keystore. No system is completely secure, but we design Pin Me to limit access to the people and groups you choose.
Retention and your controls
Sharing sessions are time-limited and cannot exceed four hours. Pin Me removes your current shared location when you stop sharing, leave the relevant group, or the session expires, subject to brief service processing and backup periods. Group membership and related metadata are retained while needed to provide the group. Optional avatars are retained until removed or no longer needed for the group.
You can stop location sharing at any time, remove an avatar, and leave groups you do not own from within the app. You can also revoke location or photo permissions in your device settings. Children
Pin Me is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through Pin Me, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pin Me changes. We will publish the revised policy here and update the effective date.
